A Long Story Made Short:
I'm driven by a passion for developing books that help young readers better understand themselves and the world around them.
I studied Writing, Literature, and Publishing at Emerson College in the great city of Boston. There, I wrote and published my first middle-grade novella, Meet Me at Harvest Moon. I then jumped into the world of children’s publishing and bookselling. Working behind the scenes opened my eyes to the power of stories as tools for navigating big feelings, building self-awareness, and developing emotional regulation.
My curiosity about how kids think, feel, and grow carried me across the ocean to St Andrews, Scotland, where I’m now earning my master’s in Psychology. Here, I’m blending my background in storytelling with the science of what makes us human. My research explores what captures children’s attention, what draws them to certain stories, and how consumer psychology shapes children’s fiction.
My goal is to bring these perspectives together to create stories that are not only engaging and imaginative, but meaningful. I want to develop stories that give kids language for what they’re experiencing and tools they can carry with them beyond the page.
